Introduction

This policy describes how Humboldt Moving & Storage (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information collected through humboldtmoving.com (the “website”). It applies to visits to the website and information submitted through our estimate and contact form. It does not attempt to describe every offline business record that may be created after someone becomes a customer.

Please do not submit highly sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, payment-card information, or medical information, through the website form.

Information we collect

Information you provide

When you use the estimate or contact form, you may provide a move or service type; origin, destination, or service location (generally a city, state, ZIP or postal code, or country); a preferred date or timeframe; home, office, or project size; packing or storage interest; your first and last name; email address; telephone number; and an optional message or other request details.

Information collected automatically

The website and its service providers may automatically receive an IP address or approximate location, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, visit dates and times, general interaction information, cookie or similar pseudonymous identifiers, and basic server, security, and error logs. The exact information depends on your browser settings, analytics consent or settings, and the services active on the production website.

How we use information

• Respond to estimate and contact requests and route them to an appropriate team.
• Discuss requested moving, packing, or storage services and communicate about your inquiry.
• Operate, maintain, and secure the website and prevent spam, fraud, and misuse.
• Understand general site usage and improve navigation, content, forms, and user experience.
• Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.

Submitting the website form does not create a binding quote or booking.

Google Analytics

The production website is expected to use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregated website activity. GA4 may collect session statistics, approximate geographic information, browser and device information, page and interaction data, and a pseudonymous client identifier stored in first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id>.

We will not intentionally send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, move locations, or form-message content to GA4. Form conversion events must not contain personally identifiable information. GA4 is intended for site measurement, not personalized advertising. Google Analytics Advertising Features, Google Signals, User-ID, and user-provided-data collection should remain disabled unless our policy and consent implementation are reviewed and updated.

Google processes information under its own Privacy Policy. You can also use browser controls or Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Microsoft Clarity

The production website is expected to use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors navigate and interact with the site. Clarity may collect page views, clicks, scrolling, mouse or pointer movement, device and browser information, approximate location, heatmap information, session-replay information, and pseudonymous cookie identifiers. A session replay reconstructs website interactions; it is not a camera recording of the visitor.

Form fields and sensitive content are intended to be masked. We will not intentionally send text entered in estimate-form fields to Clarity or use Clarity’s Identify API to attach names, email addresses, telephone numbers, or customer identifiers. Clarity uses cookies or similar identifiers according to its settings and the visitor’s consent status. Microsoft processes information under its Privacy Statement and retains different analytics and playback data for periods described in its documentation.

Cookies and similar technologies

Essential or security-related storage may be used to operate and protect the form. GA4 and Clarity may use first-party cookies or similar identifiers for analytics, and embedded services may set or access their own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking analytics cookies should not prevent you from requesting an estimate, although some analytics features may be limited when cookies are blocked or consent is not provided.

Embedded maps and external services

Location pages may contain embedded Google Maps. When a map loads, Google may receive your IP address, browser or device information, interaction and location-related information, and cookie or similar identifier information depending on your settings. See Google’s Privacy Policy. Links to other websites lead to services governed by their own privacy practices.

When we disclose information

We may disclose information to website hosting and infrastructure providers, email-delivery providers, website maintenance providers acting for Humboldt, Google for Analytics and Maps, Microsoft for Clarity, and Humboldt offices, personnel, or appropriate affiliated service teams needed to respond to a request. We may also disclose information to legal, regulatory, or law-enforcement authorities when required, or to a successor in a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the business.

We do not sell or rent personal information submitted through the website, and we do not use website-submission information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Service providers receive information only as reasonably needed to perform their services or meet legal obligations.

Data retention

Estimate and contact information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, provide requested services, maintain appropriate business records, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Information related to an actual customer move may become part of separate business, transaction, or legal records retained under applicable operational requirements.

Analytics providers retain data according to our configured settings and their own policies. Server and security logs are retained according to hosting and security needs. Information is deleted or de-identified when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to backups and legal obligations.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the website and information involved. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please do not send highly sensitive information through the estimate form. Suspected security problems may be reported through our Contact page or main business telephone number.

Visitor choices and requests

You may contact us to request access to personal information you submitted through the website, correction of inaccurate information, deletion subject to legal and business-record exceptions, or information about applicable privacy choices. Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional privacy rights. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or deleting information, and we will not discriminate against someone for making a privacy request where prohibited by law.

California Do Not Track disclosure

Legacy browser “Do Not Track” signals do not have a universally adopted technical standard, and the website does not currently alter its behavior in response to a legacy DNT signal. Third-party analytics providers may collect information about website activity over time as described in this policy. You can use browser cookie controls and the provider opt-out tools linked above.

Children’s privacy

The website and moving services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the website. A parent or guardian may contact us if they believe a child submitted information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when website practices, providers, or legal requirements change. We will revise the “Last updated” date, and material changes may also be identified through a prominent website notice when appropriate. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised policy, except where affirmative consent is required.
